I have the honour to inform your Lordship that I have today received a letter from the Colonial Secretary, informing me, by direction of His Excellency the Governor, that your Lordship had been pleased to grant an allowance of twelve dollars per mensem for conveyance.
When I applied some weeks ago for conveyance allowance, I was not aware that The Right Honourable The Earl of Derby was Principal Secretary of State for the Colonies.
